Hey! I’m Rachel, and welcome to our website!

When I was nine and in the third grade, I saw kids who couldn’t play on a playground like I could, and thought it wasn’t fair. I wrote a letter and presented my idea for an all accessible playground to the Vine Grove City Council in February of 2013. The council decided to unanimously support the idea and donated the land in Optimist Park in Vine Grove where the playground would be built. It took five years, half a million dollars and an unmeasurable amount of community support to make the Fun for Everyone Playground a reality. But, in August of 2017, we were able to open the playground and give the gift of play to everyone of all abilities in our community and the surrounding areas. Since then, my committee and I have continued our fight for the right of play and inclusion, by increasing awareness and support. However, we have now taken on our next endeavor of raising funds for an all accessible splash pad to sit adjacent to the playground in Optimist Park! I am so excited to once again have the support of the community, and make this dream a reality, just as we were able to do with the playground. And I would love your support in whatever way you feel led!

After all, when we work together we can continue changing kids lives!!

Thank you!!!
